Matt Harris has 22 years in law enforcement, recently retiring as a Deputy Sheriff and K9 handler. Matt has been working with canines since 2000 when he began handling a search and rescue canine specializing in drowning recovery and tracking. In 2004 Matt began assisting with the training and certification of search and rescue K9 teams. Matt began handling a single purpose drug detection and tracking canine in 2010 with his department. In 2012 Matt retired that canine and began working with a new canine partner, a dual purpose (narcotics/patrol) canine.  That canine is now retired with Matt.

Matt is a Master Trainer with DLE (Dogs for Law Enforcement) in the disciplines of Narcotics, Explosives, Patrol, and Tracking. Matt has also served as a Regional Judge in the with USPCA (United States Police Canine Association).



Tyler Brownell was forced to retired from the Waterloo Police Department after 9 yrs due to a medical issue. Tyler worked a dual purpose (narcotics/patrol) canine the last 4 yrs of his career with great success. Tyler is also a 12 year veteran who served in Iraq from 2003-2004 and 2010-2011 in Afghanistan as a drone pilot.  Tyler served with the Iowa Army National Guard from 2000 until 2012.
